Your Pet Can Be A Lifesaver
For Someone Else’s Pet
Most pet parents are unaware that the need for blood donations is just as critical in veterinary medicine as it is in human medicine. Each year, thousands of animals’ lives are saved by blood transfusions. Oradell Animal Hospital’s In-House Blood Bank carries a supply of canine and feline blood components that were banked in our hospital.
Our network of volunteer donors ensures that blood products are readily available, especially during a health crisis. Enrolling your healthy dog or cat in our blood donor program can make all the difference to critically ill or injured pets.
Common Reasons for a Blood Transfusion:
- Trauma
- Internal Hemorrhage
- Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA)
- Anemia
- Coagulation Abnormalities
